Call for Special Sessions

Background

We invite proposals for Special Sessions on emerging and innovative topics in image processing, vision and imaging.

Special Sessions proposal requirements

Special Session proposals must include the following items:

  • Title: A concise and descriptive title of the proposed session
  • Organizers: Names, affiliations, contact information, and short bios of each organizer, including relevant experience. We accept proposals with no more than four organizers.
  • Abstract (maximum 250 words): A summary of the motivation behind the proposed topic, how it will be addressed by the committed papers, expected impact, and justification for a special session format.
  • List of committed submissions: Titles, list of authors, and short abstracts of the committed papers. Note: an individual may appear as author/co-author on only one paper within a single special session. A special session may contain no more than two papers by the special session organizers.

Proposals should be submitted via the paper management system (to be opened in December 2025).

Proposal Evaluation

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Relevance and novelty of the topic
  • Expected impact and quality of the submissions
  • Diversity and expertise of the organizers and contributing authors

Acceptance of a proposal does not guarantee final inclusion in the program. All papers submitted to special sessions will undergo the same rigorous peer-review process as regular submissions. For program-building purposes, papers may be reassigned between regular and special sessions.
