OJSP Paper Submission

Background

This partnership between ICIP and the Open Journal of Signal Processing (OJSP) offers an alternative to the standard ICIP review track for papers intended for presentation at the conference. Papers submitted to OJSP and designated for ICIP presentation will receive expedited review to ensure that decisions are available in time for inclusion in the conference program.

Key Differences from the Conference Review Track

  1. Page Limit: 8 pages plus 1 page for references (instead of 5+1 pages).
  2. Review Process: Managed by the OJSP Editorial Board rather than the ICIP Technical Program Committee.
  3. Review Criteria: Manuscripts are evaluated according to OJSP’s “short paper” category standards and are subject to standard screening, including possible immediate rejection.
  4. Publication: Accepted papers are published as Open Access articles in OJSP, not in the ICIP conference proceedings.
  5. Costs: Authors of accepted papers must pay the Article Processing Charge (APC) for open-access publication and register for ICIP 2026 (registration covers up to four accepted papers). The 2026 OJSP APC will be $2,160. For papers accepted into the OJSP special conference section, authors will receive a promotion code to waive $660 reducing the APC from $2,160 to $1,500.

In the unlikely event of a far greater number of submissions than that can be handled, we may end the guarantee of a decision in time for ICIP presentation prior to the advertised submission deadline. A best effort will be made to make decisions for any subsequent submissions in time for the deadline, but this will not be guaranteed. Authors will be notified and a warning will be posted on the submission webpage in the event that this becomes necessary.
