ams OSRAM and DXOMARK Industry Workshop: Advances in Imaging pipelines

Background

Time: Tuesday, 15 September 2026, 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Talks

Getting the Most out of Your Image Signal Processor, Dr. Claudio Greco, Image Science Director, DXOMARK
Modern Image Signal Processors (ISPs) expose thousands of parameters that directly influence the quality and appearance of camera images. This presentation provides an introduction to ISP tuning, covering the structure of typical imaging pipelines, the methodologies used to evaluate image quality, and the practical challenges involved in optimizing camera performance. Through examples and tuning strategies, it illustrates how objective measurements and perceptual assessment can be combined to achieve both technical image quality targets and product-specific rendering goals.

Beyond RGB: Spectral Sensing for Color-Accurate Imaging Pipelines and Optimal Picture Result, Miljan Petkovic, Director of Application Engineering, ams OSRAM
The talk will discuss the following topics:

  • Why color constancy remains a challenge in modern cameras
  • Limitations of AI and RGB-based automatic white balancing in difficult scenes
  • Measured differences between RGB and spectral-based color accuracy
  • Integration of chip-scale spectral sensing into next-generation imaging pipelines

Speakers

Claudio Greco is Image Science Director at DXOMARK, where he leads the image processing and software development teams within the Analyzer department, responsible for objective image quality measurement solutions. He holds a PhD in Image and Signal Processing from Télécom ParisTech (formerly École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications) and spent several years in academia conducting research in imaging and signal processing before joining DXOMARK. His expertise spans image quality assessment, ISP tuning, computational photography, and camera system optimization. He works closely with imaging system manufacturers to develop measurement methodologies and improve the performance of cameras across a wide range of applications.

Miljan Petkovic is Director of Application Engineering for Optical Sensors at ams OSRAM, leading an international team focused on Ambient Light Sensing (ALS), Time-of-Flight (ToF), Optical Force Sensing (OFS), and Vital Signs Monitoring. A graduate in Electronics Engineering from the University of Niš, he drives customer success by bridging advanced sensor technologies with system integration — supporting customers from concept to market deployment.
