Background

Conference attendees are invited to participate in technical lab visits on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Three visit options are available, all located in Hervanta, Tampere:

  • VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland
  • Hiab
  • CIVIT

If you are interested in joining a lab visit, please complete the form linked below latest by Sunday, September 13 and indicate your preferences by ranking the available visit options. This information will be used to allocate participants to the visits.

Please note that submitting the form does not guarantee a place on a lab visit. Capacity is limited at each venue, and participation will be confirmed based on availability and participant allocation.

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland

About VTT
VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd. is a leading European research organization that develops technologies for industry. VTT’s Automated Vehicles team focuses on automated vehicle function development by combining AI, sensing, positioning, and connectivity technologies.

Demonstration
Visitors will have the opportunity to see advanced perception systems integrated into an automated vehicle fleet, as well as demonstrations of the latest developments in connected and automated driving for machinery and even motorcycles, including remote operation facilities.

Centre for Immersive Visual Technologies (CIVIT)

About CIVIT
The Centre for Immersive Visual Technologies (CIVIT) is a research infrastructure unit at Tampere University. CIVIT provides research facilities and expertise in the sectors of visual content creation and representation of visual data, advanced displays, and immersive user experience. CIVIT is one of Tampere University’s co-creation platforms offering services and collaboration opportunities for companies, researchers, students and other organizations.

Demonstration
Explore a virtual forest using the Omnideck, step inside the volumetric capture studio, and discover the future of display technologies in CIVIT’s display studio. Visitors will also learn about CIVIT’s advanced systems for image quality assessment and accurate spectral response measurement.
