Tampere University is a multidisciplinary research university located in Tampere, Finland. Established in 2019 through the merger of the former University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology, the university combines long-standing academic traditions in engineering, information technology, health sciences, and social sciences within a single foundation-based institution.

Glass Imaging’s GLASS AI is a physics-based neural image processing platform for any camera. Trained on specific optics and sensors, it reverses aberrations, reduces noise, and recovers real detail from RAW data. It runs in real time on devices, enabling co-designed AI and optics for optimized imaging across smartphones, drones, XR, and medical systems.

Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs (MERL) conducts both fundamental and applied research in artificial intelligence, signal processing, control, optimization and multi-physics modeling.

We are an open lab, publishing our results, collaborating with the world-wide research community, and measuring our performance by the impact we have on Mitsubishi Electric and the world. MERL researchers have the freedom to explore their scientific passions more fully. With an emphasis on the future, both the scientists and the management team take a long-term view of the research.
